Freshwater pearl pendant necklace

$42.00

A single freshwater pearl suspended inside an open, hand-worked frame — the gold left uneven on purpose, so it reads more like something cast than something machined. The pearl swings freely as you move.

Freshwater pearls are grown, not made. No two sit quite the same, which is the point.

Stainless steel with a gold-tone finish. Waterproof — take it through your day without thinking about it.

    The pearl actually moves

It's not glued into a bezel. It hangs inside that open, slightly messy gold frame and swings when I walk. I keep touching it on the train like a nervous habit I don't want to quit.

    Looks cast, not catalog-perfect

The gold around the pearl is left uneven on purpose and you feel that in person. My pearl is a little more baroque than the photo, which the listing basically promised. Chain is fine but not flimsy.

Layered with a shorter gold chain

This sits lower than a choker, which is what I wanted. The single pearl in the open frame doesn't fight a second necklace. Wore both to a dinner and it looked like I own more jewelry than I do.

Pearl is smaller than my imagination, still a yes

I thought the pearl would be closer to dime-size. It's more like a plump pea, which actually suits the open frame better. Clasp is simple and I can put it on without a mirror, which matters more than I expected.

Gifted this, then ordered my own

Gave it to my friend for a new job. The pearl in her version has a creamier tone than the site photo. I got jealous and bought mine the same week. Frame still has that hand-worked look, not a machine oval.

Survived perfume, silk, and a rainstorm

I put it on after spraying perfume, which you're not supposed to do with pearls, and then it rained walking home. Still looks like itself. Stainless gold-tone chain didn't spot. Pearl luster is intact.

The irregular gold is the reason to buy it

If you want a round pearl on a clean bezel, this will frustrate you. The frame looks like it was pushed into shape with fingers. That's the Casa Fealty thing. Sits nicely in the hollow of my throat on my 5'4 frame.

    Dresses up a T-shirt immediately

I don't do a lot of necklaces. This one I can throw over a white tee and it looks finished. The pearl isn't round, it's got that grown, slightly dented freshwater shape. People assume it cost more.

    Length is doing the work

I'm picky about where a pendant lands. This one hits just below my collarbones, not down in my shirt. The pearl can spin in the frame, which is oddly satisfying. No green on my neck after a full day.

    Beautiful piece, clasp is small

The lobster clasp is tiny if you have long nails. Once it's on I forget about it. The pendant is the star — open gold, one pearl, a little movement. Would still buy again.

Not the same as a mall pearl necklace

I owned one of those perfectly round fake pearls on a thick chain. This is the opposite: skinny chain, one real-looking freshwater pearl, gold that isn't trying to be smooth. It feels like an object, not a trend.

Wore it to a courthouse wedding

Needed something that wouldn't upstage a very small ceremony. This did quiet, expensive-looking, and specific. The pearl caught the window light every time I turned. Still wearing it to work the next week.

    Matches the petite pearl ring

I already had the ring and wanted the same language on my neck. Different design, same freshwater-pearl irregularity. Together they look like a set without being matchy. Chain hasn't kinked yet.
